NMB Bank Empowers Girls in Matabeleland Through Donation of Reusable Pads to Sethule Trust
At NMB Bank, we are passionate about empowering girls and uplifting communities in disadvantaged areas. As part of our commitment to addressing period poverty in Zimbabwe and supporting sustainable development goals (SDGs), we recently partnered with Sethule Trust to donate reusable sanitary pads in Matabeleland. This initiative reflects our dedication to fostering girl empowerment and creating brighter futures.
Period poverty is a significant issue in Zimbabwe, especially in rural areas where many girls lack access to affordable sanitary products. This leads to absenteeism from school, diminished self-esteem, and limited participation in daily activities. Recognizing this urgent need, NMB Bank is proud to collaborate with local initiatives like Sethule Trust to provide practical solutions.
Sethule Trust operates in Matabeleland North and South provinces, supporting girl children who face numerous challenges. Their scholarship program covers the educational needs of 36 girls, providing school uniforms, stationery, and boarding materials. By breaking down barriers to education, we unlock the potential of these young girls, enabling them to build brighter futures.
